Yesterday, Dad yelled at me when we went somewhere in the Fusion. Why? Cause I was the last one who drove it and he had to change the seating position. "You should put it back after you drive it." "Why? I don't know who will drive it next. It could be you, me, or Mom." "Listen to me, I'm your father."
I'm 24... and the car has *memory* seats.

In the Fiesta, if someone moves my seat even the slightest amount, I won't be able to find that exact position again for like a month, and I'll be in extreme agony.

I can understand that, but... Dad and I have our own setting on the memory seat. He presses 1 and I press 3.

Have they programmed their positions into the seat memory?
If so, tell you father to press his assigned number and get over it.

Next time just run the seat all the way forward and up.

Yeah, I did say "All you got to do is press one button." His is the first one.

1. Win Lotto
2. Buy GT350
3. Obtain 2-3 'professional girlfriends'
4. Burnouts in front of dads house with girls hanging out the back window while blasting death metal out of the windows. Scream, "FUCK YOU AND YOUR FUCKING STUPID SEATING RULES DAD!!!" Before letting off the brakes and rolling into the sunset.
5. ...make sure girlfriends put the seat back when they drive the car.

This comment is my feeble attempt at hijacking this post because I don't know how to program the memory seats in the Fusion I just bought.

My car has memory associated with each key fob, so my fiancee has one and I have the other. Is very nice. Also adjusts the mirrors because why the fuck not?

Set your desired seat position, press desired memory button (1, 2, or 3) and hold it until it beeps.

Thank you kindly.
As far as the situation with your Dad goes...yeah. Memory seats kind of make that a moot point.

That was an option on my car... an option I dearly wish I had.

My father and I:
Dad: "You should put it back after you drive it."
Me: "But who's to tell who will drive it next?"
Dad: "Damnit, I said so!"
Me: "Fine..."
Fast-forward to the next time I drive the car...
Dad: "Why the hell is the seat so far back?"
Me: "You said to put it back after you drive it..."
Dad: "Goddamnit."
At this point Mom and I are laughing.

Dude. I feel ya. It's like the Fiesta's seat rail is dynamic. The notches are never in the same place.

Note to self: adjust Brian's seat slightly if we ever meet.

No no no...You run the seat all the way back. That way you are doing exactly what he told you to do.

Aren't the memories tied to the key fobs? My wife's Escape has that and her key sets the seat to her memory position and mine sets it to mine. Which is very convenient since I'm way taller than she is.
![]() 01/19/2015 at 15:27 |
|
It frustrates me SO much. Like even if it's a millimeter off, my back is in pain.
![]() 01/19/2015 at 15:28 |
|
The ultimate way to torture me is to somehow block the one section of the rail so I can never set it there. I'd seriously go insane.

HAHA!! "Professional girlfriends"
![]() 01/19/2015 at 15:45 |

Tell him to buy a car where they program the memory seats to the keyfob so it will put the seat position in the right place when he unlocks the door. Or else press "1" and get over it.
![]() 01/19/2015 at 15:51 |
|
I didn't know that.
Regardless, what we do is just use the same key fob and leave the spare one in a drawer.
![]() 01/19/2015 at 15:58 |
|
Then that doesn't work. But yes, you can tie memory positions 1 and 2 to the key fobs and to individual door codes if you've got the keypad option.

You're 24 and you share a car with your dad?

My wife has ape arms. She sits all the way down and flat and waaaayyı back. I get in and bust my ass everytime I get in because I fall 3 or 4 feet (in my mind). I got pissed one day and left it all the way back, all the way down and the seat back flat. She wasn't happy.

Hey smudgey! didn't know that. What are the details?
![]() 01/19/2015 at 21:52 |

To be honest, my mom drives it the most and pays for it (Dad has his own car).

5 days ago I traded in my Grand Marquis and my Versa for a 2013 Ford Fusion SE with the 2.0T Ecoboost motor. It's got 40k miles on it.

Looks SO good, the Turbo must feel quick!
![]() 01/20/2015 at 08:23 |

It has more horsepower and torque than my Grand Marquis' V8 out of a 2.0T and weighs like 700 lbs less. Plus it doesn't have a 4 speed 2.77 granny gear ratio transmission...it feels lightning quick to me haha.

Memory seats are the single greatest car option ever. I'd never had a car with them before I got my Lexus, and they're amazing. It makes finding my seat position after someone else drives my car so much easier.
